Impenetrable midnight black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Expressive ripe dark plum, blackberry, and chocolate bullet aromas rise out of the glass followed by spicy vanillin oak, subtle dried herb notes, and a hint of raisins. Following in the footsteps of past vintages the palate is dense, rich, concentrated, and liqueur-like in its textural feel, however, there’s an element of jamminess to the fruit. Lush plummy blackberry and licorice flavours are shadowed by spicy vanillin oak and confectionary elements. Velvet smooth tannins. With the power to burn it finishes with some heat on the long lavish aftertaste.
